The Limb Loss and Difference Lab is part of the

Physical Therapy Department and Center for Anatomical Sciences

at the University of North Texas Health Science Center

in Fort Worth, Texas.


We study the perspectives, biomechanics, and musculoskeletal health of people with limb loss (amputation) and difference (congenital)

to improve clinical care.

  • Preferred terminology (disability v. identity-first terms)
  • Contracted with the Amputee Coalition for program assessment


Methods include surveys, interviews, and focus groups.

GRACI FINCO, PhD, CPO / Director

Dr. Graci Finco is currently an Assistant Professor in Physical Therapy, with a secondary appointment in Center for Anatomical Sciences, at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She is also on the Board of Directors for the O&P Foundation, which distributes scholarships for students, clinicians, and researchers in orthotics and prosthetics.
